Sat 20 September, 2008 qualche recensione Fa piacere a quasi 2 anni di distanza trovare per caso sulla rete recensioni come questa, un po' esagerata, ma fa piacere lo stesso:
What a great record! Truly astonishing and a true pearl of Italian hardcore. This is the first and last full length by now (sadly) defucnt band, Tsunami. Hailing from the very prolific Turin area they were a short lived band that even tho only published very little material (a couple of EPs and this album, if i am not mistaken) has left a permanent mark. They are still today considered amongst the best bands of the Italian scene and are still praised for their technical ability, song-writing and lyrics. This is what an old school hardcore album should sound like. Not excessively fast or heavy, it's really well balanced and there is just the right dose of both. What however you will find in this album and that perhaps is what Tsunami are best know for is the presence of melody. Very subtle and enjoyable melodies that show what great song-writing abilities these guys had. They show also technical competence and ability as the songs are all very well structured and they know how to use their instruments to obtain the sound they want. The lyrics are great too, very intelligent and well written, the 'poetic' approach to lyric writing (for which Tsunami are still today remembered) make each lyric an interesting reading. To crown it all there is impeccable vocals with the main vocals that are not screamed and quite clear in understanding, all compensated by the high pitched screamo-ish second voice. Overall a very refined and technically superb sound, that still retains all the energy and attitude of old school hardcore. It's stuff that goes along the line of bands such as Kafka, Laghetto or L'Amico di Martucci, something for everyone. The tracks to have a particular listen are tracks such as "Mercenari/Martiri" which mixes perfectly aggressiveness and melody with some great stop-and-gos. Other great track is "L'ingrato", very melodic and technical track with piles of energy to it. My personal favourite has to be "Terso soffitto blu" a very catchy track with perhaps the best melody and structure of the whole album, the kind of song that sticks in your head at the first listening.
